Do you install windows?

No. Installation is completed by a licensed independent contractor. You can use your preferred installer, or we can recommend a trusted contractor for your project. We coordinate delivery and support your contractor with product details.

How long does the window order process take?

Timelines vary by product line and season, but most projects follow this flow:

  1. Consultation & measuring

  2. Order finalized (usually within 1–2 weeks)

  3. Manufacturing & shipping (varies by series/options)

  4. Delivery coordination

  5. Installation by your contractor

  6. We’ll give you a realistic estimated lead time when you order and update you along the way.

When do I pay for my order?

A deposit is typically required when the order is placed, with the remaining balance due based on your purchase agreement. We’ll explain payment milestones clearly before you sign.

Can I use my own contractor or install myself?

Absolutely. Many homeowners already have a contractor they trust. We’ll provide your installer with specs, ordering details, and delivery timing so the install goes smoothly. Or, we can help you find a qualified contractor with our builder directory!

What if I don’t have a contractor yet?

We can recommend experienced independent contractors who are familiar with our products. You’re never required to use a specific installer. Try our builder directory!

What if something arrives damaged or incorrect?

Let us know right away. We’ll document the issue, work with the manufacturer on replacement parts or re-orders, and coordinate updated delivery timing with your contractor.

Will new windows improve energy efficiency?

In most homes, yes — especially if your current windows are drafty, single-pane, or failing. Andersen offers multiple glass and performance packages, and we’ll help you choose one that matches your climate and comfort goals.

Do you handle permits?

Permits are typically handled by your installer/contractor (requirements vary by city/county). If you have questions, we’ll help point you in the right direction.

Do you cut lumber to size?

We get a lot of customers that want something cut to a certain size because they don’t have a saw or the capability to haul a sheet of plywood. So, we will cut things to their measurements. We have a panel saw for sheet goods and our radial arm saw for cutting 2×4’s and lumber. We also have a table saw for ripping boards occasionally.

Do you keep windows in stock?

We do not at this time, but we would definitely order them for and get them here in a timely manner. We find value in our great customer service above convenience. We are here to help make the process easier!

Can I replace a broken window that has insulated glass?

Yes, either a new sash can be ordered, or you can bring the broken sash in, and we can measure and order insulated glass for it and install it when it comes in.

Are they able to pay for their orders over the phone?

We ask for the customer to come to the store to make a payment. Not taking credit cards over the phone is for our customer’s protection.
