With Safety Measures Implemented, Spahn & Rose Reopens Stores to Customers

As an essential business, Spahn & Rose has remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, since March, stores have been open by appointment only.  Now, with extensive safety measures having been put in place, all Spahn & Rose locations have reopened to customers.

“With an abundance of caution, and following safety recommendations from state and federal health agencies, Spahn & Rose stores are reopened,” says Spahn & Rose CEO Dave Davis. “We have taken many steps to provide a safe place to shop for our customers and employees.”

Each Spahn & Rose location is implementing the following protective procedures:

Clear protective shields at counters

Plexiglas barriers at registers will help keep customers and employees safer. In addition, there are signs at the entrances of Spahn & Rose locations that alert customers to any potential restrictions on entry and movement in and around the facility, as well as guidelines and expectations to be adhered to while in the store.

Masks for employees

In addition to wearing masks, employees frequently wash their hands, properly cover coughs and sneezes and refrain from touching their face. Employees also stagger breaks and practice social distancing even in areas outside the showrooms.

Temperature checks for employees before entering workplace

Before employees’ shifts begin, they’ll be checked to be sure they’re not exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms (a fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Also, employees must document their health status before returning to work from a sick leave.

Frequent, thorough cleaning

Spahn & Rose locations will thoroughly clean shared surfaces throughout the facility, including break rooms, conference rooms and restrooms at least once every 24 hours. Also, disinfectant wipes, sanitizer and cleaning supplies will be readily available throughout stores.

Continued promotion of social distancing

As we reopen our doors, we will continue to practice social-distancing guidelines recommended by the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Fortunately, Spahn & Rose showrooms allow for easy social distancing. Even with such guidelines in place, though, Spahn & Rose employees will still be nearby to answer questions and help with your lumber, building-material and hardware needs.

While stores are now open to customers, Spahn & Rose continues to offer touch-free curbside pickup and deliveries.

“As a local business that’s served our communities for 116 years, it’s an honor and privilege to continue providing our customers essential building materials during these challenging times,” Davis says. “Things may look a little different in our stores, but thank you for your patience—and on behalf of everyone at Spahn & Rose, welcome back!”
