Spahn & Rose Foundation Donates More than $170,000 to Local Charities in 2021

The shared smiles, warm greetings and ginormous checks of Community Day: Building Our Communities through Giving, felt a little more special this year. Earlier this month, representatives from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin charities, local leaders and Spahn & Rose employees got together to celebrate the past year’s Spahn & Rose Foundation donations and the good work of dozens of area charities.

In 2021, the Spahn & Rose Foundation donated $170,750 to 68 charities throughout 42 counties in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. On December 16, representatives from groups that received donations, community leaders and Spahn & Rose staff celebrated during Community Day: Building Our Communities through Giving at the Dubuque Spahn & Rose location.

Spahn & Rose is proud to be part of these charities’ efforts through tough times.”

Founded in 1950, the Spahn & Rose Foundation supports programs that provide services for higher education, healthy communities and at-risk youth. Over the past decade, the Foundation has donated more than $1 million to a diverse range of nonprofit groups and other worthy causes.

“Especially in these trying times, it’s important to take a moment together to celebrate the accomplishments of these charities and the Spahn & Rose employees who have a long history of volunteering, donating and sharing leadership,” Davis says. “It was wonderful to see everyone at Community Day!”

Each year, dozens of charities receive support from the Spahn & Rose Foundation. Here are five recent recipients and how they’ve made a difference to the communities Spahn & Rose serves:
